RESPONSIBLE RECRUITMENT WORKING GROUP

Incentivizing transparency and fee-free recruiting

Our working group is developing financial solutions that foster a more stable and predictable business environment for H-2A stakeholders while incentivizing responsible recruitment practices.

Goal & Overview

Recruitment That Respects Rights

We connect finance experts, employers, responsible recruiters and other actors in the Latin America to United States agricultural labor mobility value chain with two primary objectives in mind:

  1. Develop business incentives for recruiters to adopt responsible practices
  2. Expand or replicate best practices between labor mobility corridors

Our Work

What we do

The RRWG aims to co-create incentive-based financial solutions that promote fair distribution of risks and rewards among all agricultural value chain actors who depend on migrant workers. By doing so, it seeks to enhance the professionalism and long-term sustainability of labor mobility systems.

Focus Areas

Potential solutions

We are currently exploring several potential financial solutions to support responsible recruitment, including:

Surety Bonds

Can we reimagine the existing surety bond required by the Department of Labor to incentivize responsible recruitment and other best practices?

Results Based Financing

Is there a future where payments are tied to pre-agreed, verified, and measurable performance targets?

Working Capital Funds

Would access to impact-linked working capital transform business practices in the recruitment industry?

Participants

Our Collaborators are Deeply Invested

Participants in this working group have been tackling the issue of responsible recruitment for years – and in some case, decades.

They bring expertise from different migration corridors, agricultural employment practices, finance, and global recruitment.
